Extra Credit- Guest Speaker Promotion
On April 16, 2018, Andrea Rhodes, of Gig Marketing, joined our Strategic Advertising Class to present Healthy Farm Eating and its’ marketing brief. She introduced Healthy Farm Eating as being relatively new and only quickly released in 2017. She recognized that the original process of creating the brand identity and getting the company up and running may have been too rushed. Andrea explained Healthy Farm’s farm to fork initiative which consists of food grown at farms within the Connecticut community, preparation by professional chefs, and then a meal available for customers to pick up at two locations. The company does not offer delivery and customers can pick up at the local YMCA or a community kitchen, click kitchen. She explained that most Healthy Farm Eating customers were interested in the meals in order to lose weight or to eat more locally grown food. The company’s budget has mostly been put towards the development of the website and food photography, which Andrea organized. They are in the process of creating trucks with signage, however other marketing plans have been minimal. The social media accounts are also not very active. With only about 12 customers, the brand is recognizing that it needs to improve its marketing base in order to increase customers and sales. They are counting on our class for new advertising ideas.
